We were at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption, or otherwise known as St. Mary's Cathedral in San Francisco to host the photo booth for newlyweds, Mr. & Mrs. Gonzalez. St. Mary's Cathedral, a must-see for visitors in San Francisco, is a beautiful wedding venue. From the approach, one can't help but admire the grandeur of this impressive structure. Step inside the church, and the architecture just takes your breath away, it is stunning. The reception was held at Patron's Hall at the basement level, a great space for a big crowd. As always, it was a busy night at the booth. From the time we opened to the time service ended, it was just non-stop action! Guests of all ages- children, teens, young adults and the young-at-heart adults, joined in the fun. There was an abundance of smiles, laughter, and high spirits. Clearly, the happiness meter was at its peak! Are you planning your next event? Want to know the origin of Cinco de Mayo? Thoughtco.com explains it below:
"Many people mistakenly think that Cinco de Mayo celebrates Mexican independence, much like Independence Day in the United States. In fact, Cinco de Mayo, the fifth of May, celebrates the Mexican army's defeat of France in the Battle of Puebla. This battle took place during the Franco-Mexican War (1861-1867), which ultimately ended with France withdrawing due to pressure from the United States, who intervened after the Civil War ended. Cinco de Mayo is a relatively minor holiday in Mexico. It is celebrated primarily in Puebla, where the battle took place. In other parts of Mexico, businesses remain open and life goes on as usual. In the U.S., Cinco de Mayo is popularly observed as a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage. " Enjoy! |
