Family and friends gathered together in San Jose, Ca to honor Nelly who turned 80 years old this past weekend. Her accomplishments as a mother and grandmother over the past eight decades is truly worthy of a celebration. Jane, her daughter-in-law, called us for our photo booth service as a gift for Nelly. And what better way is there to capture the joy and laughter in this momentous event but through the Photo Booth. Nelly had her photos taken with her loved ones- her children, her grand-children, her cousins and nieces, and special friends. Her guests went home with their prints, and we left the complete set of digital photos for Nelly and her family to enjoy even long after the party is over. As for Nelly, she was definitely the star of the night.
The elegant and serene gardens at Hakone in Saratoga is an authentic replica of Japanese Samurai or Shogun's estate garden. Made up of strolling hills, water falls, koi ponds and many other elements of Japan's ancient civilization, this scenic place was the backdrop of Jason and Karen's wedding last weekend. A surprise visit from a resident! Our photo video booth was set up in front of the Cultural Exchange Center, an authentic reproduction of a 19th century Kyoto tea-merchant's house and shop. As we were getting prepared, an unexpected resident approached us, or rather... slithered toward us- yes, a 2 1/2 ft. snake! Without hesitation, one of our team members, picked it up on its tail and carefully transferred it to the bushes a few feet away where it can continue on its way undisturbed. Too bad, I was unable to capture the moment in film. Since Jason and Karen had a Totoro-inspired wedding theme (Totoro is a character in a Japanese animated fantasy film, "My Neighbor Totoro"), they asked to include the Totoro stuffed toy as one of the props for the photo booth. And the guests gladly obliged. Below are other photos taken at the event. Click on the photos to enlarge.
The Dessert Station Ahoy Mateys! We are excited to share with you our photos of the dessert station we created for the birthday celebration of Lalatoa who turned one this past weekend. The theme that Mele, Lalatoa's mom, asked us to create was from the Disney show, Jake and the Neverland Pirates. The dessert station, 14 feet in length, was filled with everything pirate including the dessert names which we had fun with. There were two cakes at the dessert station - the "Bucky" ship and "Treasure chest" which we filled with some of the gold coins. There were two cake pop designs, the hooks of Captain Hook, and the other with pirate faces, and we had cookies shaped into the characters from the Disney show. It was a station set to serve over 100 guests. Here is the list of dessert items on the table: Cakes (1) 3D Bucky Ship, Tiramisu flavor (1) 3D Treasure Chest, Nutella flavor Sugar Cookies "Jake" "Scully" "Map" “Treasure Chest" Cake Pops "Hook" Cake Pops, Red Velvet Flavor "Pirate" Cake Pops, Lemon Flavor Candies & Chocolate "Treasure Maps" -Rolled wafers "Pirate Bones"- Chocolate Pretzels "Precious Jewels" -Star Burst "Cannon Balls"-Crispy Chocolate Truffles "Pirate teeth-Caramel Popcorn "Tic-Toc Croc"-Alligator Gummies "Pirate Gold"-Chocolate Gold Coins, Rolo, Hershey Nuggets "Walk the Planks"-Kit Kat Wafer bars "Jewel loot"- Ring Pops Pirate Cupcakes Details, Details, Details: To accessorize the table, we made the blue and white ship mast for the centerpiece, hung fish nets, added a treasure chest to hold the "pirate treasure", used old wooden crate boxes, black and red servers, and decorated glass jars with natural jute rope throughout the table. We printed out a special sign that read "Captain Lalatoa's 1st birthday party" and placed it in the center, and created the labels to look like parchment paper found in old maps, added the character images, and placed small pirate flags on top. See the details in the pics below: The Photo Booth The guests got a double treat from the party. They had a fill of their favorites from the dessert station, and they also brought home photo print favors from the photo booth sessions. How much fun and memorable is that?
We were at the Double Tree hotel in Brisbane last Saturday for the celebration of George's Baptism. When Carol, George's mom, told us that she wanted a Vintage gold and mint sweet station, we could not wait to get started. Mint and gold is making a comeback. It was a popular look a few years back, but will re-emerge with big success this Spring 2015 according to tulleandchantilly.com, makers of custom-designed gowns. The combination of gold and mint is considered one of the top 6 wedding color ideas this spring. It exudes elegance and sophistication- great for any special event!
The dessert station was set to serve 100 guests. The treats were: 2 types of Truffles-Chocolate and Marble colored truffle chocolates, Assorted Baklava, Coconut Chocolate Cookies,Coconut Cookies, Fudge Covered Marshmallows, Salted caramel brownie bites, Caramel chocolate fudge cookies, White powdered mini donuts, Marmalade Ginger Thumbprint Cookies, Mini Almond dark chocolate chip cookies, Numura (honey cake), Sesame anise cookies, White Gingerbread cookies & Cupcakes. |
